Post conflict establishments Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Post strife foundations - Essay Example Truly, there were victories and wars equipped towards building domains that were dependent upon an incomparable ruler. A genuine model is the Roman Empire that utilized savage fights to grow its domain, and everybody was dependent upon the ruler in Rome. With advancement that has been pushed from the hour of business people, for example, Karl Marx and different defenders of monetary autonomy, there has been a move in how country building must be drawn nearer (Fukuyama, 1991). With upheavals being seen in a few countries on the planet even in the ongoing years, the test of accomplishing a national solidarity has been a significant cerebral pain to the administration specialists just as the universal network. The worldââ¬â¢s superpowers, for example, the United States together with other global bodies including the United Nations have been in journey of advancing majority rules system, however a few endeavors by such outside gatherings have frequently exacerbated things. A genuine m odel is that of two nations â⬠Somalia and East Timor â⬠where utilization of severe power and bondage made the nations much progressively ungovernable and with the ongoing advancements in East Timor, it has been apparent that the way to deal with be taken in unraveling issues of country building ought to be increasingly comprehensive. This paper attempts to analyze the difficulties that the outer aggressors, as they are now and again alluded to, have looked in their mission to assist countries with coming out of contention and create. It further investigates the potential methods for wiping out those difficulties with the goal that the objective of making steady and dynamic countries is achieved. Country Building and Its Challenges As talked about beneath, there are different difficulties that should be set out to have the option to accomplish the expectation for making countries progressively joined together and concentrated on achieving social, ideological and political dec ent variety as proposed by Forman (2002). In the first place, the topic of various social impact in the post-war countries has caused significant damage in how the issue of country building is to be dealt with. Finding a trade off for regularly pointedly partitioned ancestral gatherings has not been a simple assignment as will be talked about in the accompanying area. Socio-Cultural Beliefs and Identity Many of the contentions in nations have been because of contentions from various gatherings that may introduce a strict, ethnic, class or some other social character. Settling questions among a strongly partitioned individuals who are generally adversaries is a substantial undertaking for outer associations which probably won't have the option to comprehend the fundamental reasons why the individuals are in steady clash. The Israeli-Palestinian clash gives an understanding into how strict lessons and ideological contrasts brought about by chronicled distortions have brought about a p rofoundly established clash. At times, for example, this contention, country working between the two states through compromise and even the consistent utilization of power has not helped in understanding the contentions. Be that as it may, a few countries succeeded in settling strife through discretion despite the fact that it was difficult. A genuine model is South Africa during and after Apartheid. While Bishop Desmond Tutu and President Nelson Mandela quickly set up the Truth and Reconciliation Commission with a sole motivation behind reestablishing harmony and equity, their principle objective was to concede acquittal to those culprits who submitted maltreatment during the Apartheid time. This anyway was done under specified

The Subtle Art of Using Emotion in Your Visual Content
How many advertisements do you remember fondly? Probably not that many, considering we're bombarded with content on a daily basis. But the ones you do remember seem to creep into your subconscious. It's like a catchy song that you can't help but remember. Good visual content has a lot to do with psychology. Appealing to human emotions will influence people to react to your ad a certain way. Related: 4 ways to increase conversions with visual content Corporate Executive Board did a survey on this in partnership with Google. They contacted marketing leaders, vendors, consultants, and over 3,000 B2B buyers to understand the rise of emotion-driven content marketing. In their report From Promotion to Emotion, it's revealed that 86% of buyers believe that brands are all selling the same stuff. Unique value propositions are not turning out to be... not so unique. But, brands that connect with customers on an emotional level will see 2x more impact than those trying to sell based on functional value alone. If you'd like to tap into that influence, here are 7 emotions that drive people to connect with brandsââ¬âand real-world examples of each. 1. Urgency Even when your customers want your product, they can still be hesitant. Maybe they feel like they can buy from you any time, so why spend money now? Later, they say, later. This is when you need to infuse a bit of urgency. Add a timer or an expiration date in your email newsletter or video ad, and buyers will take the cue. No one wants to miss out on a good deal. Source: McDonald's Big retail & e-commerce brands use urgency (tick-tock) to promote instant consumer action or purchase decisions. However, make sure you have a good reason for incorporating urgency in your offer. For example, countdown timers are often used for festive occasions or limited product runs. Urgency even works better when you pair it with scarcity. Use phrases like "limited stocks available," "limited tickets," or "first come first serve." Source: 4YFN A similar psychological catalyst is FOMO. Fear of missing out is a social worry that if you don't participate in time, you won't be able to enjoy the same rewards other people are reaping. One study reveals that around 69% of millennials experience FOMO when they can't attend a popular event. You can use that fear to your advantage. 2. Desire Desire is a powerful emotion. Almost every action we take and purchase we make is driven by desire. Many brands channel desires into their visual ads to capture an audience's interest. One way to do this is through before-and-after images. Olay took this concept even further with their "Identical Twins" campaign, where one of the twins uses the product and the other does not. Source: Olay But, before-and-after images don't have to be about skin care or weight loss products. Check out this GIF, for example. SiteFlood creatively uses the before-and-after concept to show prospects what kind of results their service delivers. Source: SiteFlood Similarly, most explainer videos use a "problem-and-solution" format to identify prospects' needs, then provide a solution to help them fulfill that desire. This video explores the desire to live in the Caribbean, the problems one faces to achieve this, and the solution. At Lucidpress, we used the same animated format to introduce our brand management platformââ¬âcomplete with white knights, bodyguards and Mama bears. 3. Compassion We're social creatures, and that's frequently reflected in our behaviors and reactions. We care about our family, our friends, and even random strangers. Doing something for others makes us feel good. Thai Life Insurance produced a series of heart-warming videos that showcase the sentiments of altruism and care, even in adversity. In the end, it's wrapped up nicely as part of the brand message. Attaching your brand to feelings of love, care, attachment, altruism and charity can give your visual content a strong emotional pull. 4. Delight Humor provides more delight than almost any other emotion, but it can be difficult to pin down and execute well. You must know your audience and their sensibilities, so you don't end up missing the mark, falling flat, or even offending them instead of making them laugh. Old Spice has perfected the art of appealing to its demographic in a variety of fast-paced, cinematic ad campaigns. It's delightful, humorous and exciting to watch. 5. Personal care Advertising is everywhere, and it rarely feels like an ad is speaking directly to you. In this constant deluge of content, personalization is valued more and more. If you want my business, make me feel special. Show me that you care. Starbucks is no more "special" than any other coffee brand, but they show their patrons that they care. It's a brand synonymous with warmth, comfort and convenience, and it's easy to make it your own. Source: Tumblr Starbucks proves that it cares about the individual experience by providing a casual meeting space, a work environment, a place to relax, free Wi-Fi and other comforts. Perhaps more importantly, they ask each customer for their name and write it on every cup of brew they order. In some ways, Starbucks has come to resemble a hospitality brand without actually being one, simply by extending a comforting personal touch. Introducing customization or personal touches to your brand can make you far more appealing to your audience, because they will feel special and cared for. 6. Trust Your customers have their own personal tastes, values and opinions. Likes and dislikes. Movies or music that they love or hate. It turns out that personality will largely determine a customer's shopping behavior. They buy products and experiences that either reinforce their personality or help them get closer to who they want to be. So it stands to reason that if you associate your brand with a celebrity they like (or want to be like), that would give them a reason to trust in your brand and buy from you. Source: Nike This is why brands hire celebrities and influencers to drive brand awareness and adoption. The idea here is to create an image your target customers will like or aspire to. Do some research on who your customers are (or who you want them to be). Once you've sketched out a buyer persona, including their likes and interests, you can solidify brand messaging that speaks to their personality and valuesââ¬âand earns their trust. 7. Motivation Participating in social causes you believe in can be very gratifying. But, that gratification often comes from harrowing personal experiences, or at the very least, a visualization of others' worst experiences. CoorDown, an advocacy group for people with Down syndrome in Italy, made a beautifully profound video featuring people with Down syndrome delivering their own messages of reassurance to a future mother who's worried about what kind of life her child will have. The video is a rollercoaster of emotions that culminates in the promise of a happy, fulfilling life. Find a cause that speaks to your brand values or to your employees. You can draw on personal experience or the hardships of others to create stories that inspire hope and motivation for your audience. Key takeaway Emotions are fundamental. You don't need a PhD in psychology to figure out what makes people tick. You just have to do some research on your buyers. Draw up a buyer persona, then create visual content that will resonate with that audience. Learn more about the power of brand storytelling in our webinar with branding expert David Brier.

As they storm into the reception area of Chandlerââ¬â¢s office suite, shouting ââ¬Å"Down with fascist tuition increases,â⬠Chandlerââ¬â¢s faithful secretary, Prudence Pimply, picks up a phone to call the campus police. This is exactly what happened din this case. Steve Steel not only knocked the phone out of Prudenceââ¬â¢s hand but also broke down the door and threatened Prudence with force and made her scared for her life. I do believe that negligence is a part of this case. A person who engages in activities that pose an unreasonable risk toward others and their property that actually results in harm, breaches their duty of reasonable care. Steve Steel did not show a proper care of duty with Prudence. I think that Steve Steel should also be responsible for all of the physical and mental damages since he did not show reasonable care. I think the tort liability in this case would be assault and battery. An assault involves three things that we see in this case. An assault occurs when an intentional, unlawful threat or offer to cause bodily injury to another by force; under circumstances which create in the other person a well-founded fear of imminent peril; where there exists the apparent present ability to carry out the act if not prevented. Autism Spectrum Disorder ( Asd ) - 1575 Words
There are a wide variety of symptoms that have been associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD, the name adopted in 2013) including, repetitive movements, emotional difficulties, sensory problems, etc. The exact cause of these symptoms is a widely debated topic. In this paper, I will discuss the overall prevalent causes for Autism as well as the different variations and subgroups. People are familiar with other disorders such as Down syndrome or Trisomy 21. These types of disorders are discussed frequently because of the knowledge and commonality of them. However, not everybody is familiar with a disorder such as Autism. Living the Military Lifestyle Essay Example For Students
Living the Military Lifestyle Essay The United States military became one of the largest fighting forces in the world during World War 2. The U. S. Armed Forces consists of the five armed service branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy. There are three general categories of military people: active duty, reserve and guard forces, and veterans and retirees. Joining the military has been an influenced decision by our country for decades. Although entering may not be everyoneââ¬â¢s first choice, the United States offers the greatest lifelong benefits. Even though oneââ¬â¢s life may be successful, being in the military can leave a devastating impact on a person physically and mentally for the remainder of their years. Lt. Col. Dave Grossman stated in his novel ââ¬Å"On Killingâ⬠, ââ¬Å"I am sick and tired of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation. War is hell. â⬠After experiencing 10 years in the armed forces, I have now been able to understand the connotation of that quote. Attempting to sleep is the worst. While lying down at night, all I can be reminded of are my Marine brothers being blasted apart one after the other. I constantly prompt myself of how lucky I am to be alive, but some nights I can hardly stand to be alive any longer. Adapting to civilian life again is much harder due to burdensome times in the field. Just a simple routine airplane flying over my house at dark can send petrifying flashbacks into my faint slumber. Being in the military has taken its detriment on my mind more than I wouldââ¬â¢ve ever imagined. Out in battle an endless amount of scenarios can happen, at any moment. Granted that I was blessed and kept all my limbs while surviving 10 years in the military, others were not so fortunate. The deafening frequencies of airplanes and choppers were not enforced as much as they shouldââ¬â¢ve been. Hearing loss is now definitely a physical factor that has impaired my daily life drastically. I was unconcerned of my future while fighting for my life and now I face the consequences for not wearing earplugs when I should have. On the other hand, the military career improved my physical appearance and provided me with an everlasting work ethic. Now in the best shape of my life, I am able to continue working out with drive and motivation that I never seemed to have control of before enlisting. When you look good, you feel good; and feeling good is a variable that is very much needed when coming out of the military and maintaining an ordinary lifestyle. Being physically prepared for battle never seemed to be a problem when out in the field, but staying physically strong was another story when it came to the family I had back at home. Family is all some people have. It was all I had. Leaving them again and again was the hardest part of staying consistent to the military lifestyle. Nevertheless, when you love your family, you do everything for them. The military gave me this option. Going out to serve my country to keep them free and pay the bills made it everything I wanted to do. With the best benefits in the nation, the military supplies my family and me with more than enough to get by. Free housing on base, free medical care, adequate retirement funds etc. are just a few significant attributes to the successful life the military paved for me. To imagine not being able to buy what I wanted to buy or not go where I wanted to go is frightening. .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 , .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 .postImageUrl , .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 , .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363:hover , .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363:visited , .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363:active { border:0!important; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363:active , .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363 .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u0c5426ee3fd3348d931ec29f89b1c363:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Their Eyes Were Watching God 4 EssayIf I had not joined the military and set out on a different course, my life may not be as prosperous as it is today.
